Help children and adults with special needs play baseball. Donations collected at the concert will support the construction of a new Miracle League field in Durham.
Why we’re raising money
The Miracle League of the Triangle helps children and adults with special needs play baseball. But without a Miracle League field in Durham, local families must drive to Wake County to participate in games.
Now, the Miracle League is raising money to construct a baseball field in Durham, with support from the Durham Bulls and Capitol Broadcasting Company. The new field will be designed with a flat, latex-free, synthetic sport surface that is barrier-free, allowing individuals using wheelchairs, walkers, and other assistive devices to move around the field freely. The Miracle League anticipates creating teams for 125 players in its first year of operation.
We’re grateful for the support of Durham 150, TROSA, the Durham Bulls, and the Rotary Club of Durham for this concert.
On the program
The family-friendly program recreates the experience of attending a baseball game in nine innings with nine short musical selections and an engaging narration.
We’ll be playing “The Star Spangled Banner,” the theme from “The Pink Panther,” selections from “Star Wars,” “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” and other favorites.
