Help us celebrate our 10th season with a concert featuring pieces that make connections between music and memory.

What you’ll hear at this concert
AARON COPLAND: Appalachian Spring
A beloved work by a composer who experienced Alzheimer’s disease late in his life.

JOHN MACKEY: Places we can no longer go
A new arrangement of a work about the composer’s mother’s experience with Alzheimer’s disease.

MAURICE RAVEL: Bolero
Ravel’s most famous work features two melodies repeated over and over again for more than 15 minutes. Some believe the composer’s sudden obsession with repetition was an early manifestation of a neurodegenerative condition.

STEVEN BRYANT: Shouting Defiance
This new fanfare premiered in 2019.
